We are here to change things

Our Vision

E-mobility freedom for all

Electric mobility is great. But it’s no fun if everyone can’t benefit. With empty performance promises, high costs and vague sustainability claims, earlier hype in electric mobility has left people feeling a bit, well, underwhelmed. Electric mobility simply had to step up.

So, since 2018 we have been putting the greatest minds in Europe to the test and out came Innolith.
Our battery cells are set to make EVs more affordable and powerful and make all new forms of e-mobility a reality. Our batteries will empower the world to move faster and to tread lighter.

And we won’t stop until everyone’s moving electric.

Our Mission

We champion sustainable battery cell innovation to liberate e-mobility

From the start, we meant business.
Our ambition is bold – we target 99%+ of the battery market.

We have pioneered an entirely new battery technology, now independently validated (because claims are nothing without fact), that is already compatible with the future.

For us, it means reliable and pragmatic innovation – delivering world’s firsts, costing less, lasting longer, being faster and far safer, greener and performing whatever the weather – it’s the least our battery cells can do.

We are a multi-talented team of people, on a mission to make electric mobility a universal reality. Putting the skin into the game, every day.

OUR
JOURNEY

It has started in 2000 with the inventors of our technology – Dr. Laurent Zinck and Markus Borck, who had a vision of the world’s universal electric mobility, enabled by a high energy battery innovation.
After 18 years of researching inorganic liquid electrolyte technologies and working in the multiple battery start-ups, in 2018 they decided to set up their own – and Innolith was born.

In 2019, Innolith’s technology – a new class of electrolytes, an entirely new battery platform – demonstrated a breakthrough that opened a new path for a host of existing and emerging e-mobility industries.

Headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, we have an advanced Innovation Centre in Bruchsal, Germany.

We have come a long way, delivering full cell B-samples to the
world since January 2022.

Our Innovation Centre in Germany – making history

Innolith has opened a state-of-the-art laboratory line in our Innovation Centre in September 2021, with full R&D facilities and a complete manufacturing cycle to deliver on our dream. Six months after full installation, we have a team of 70 with a millennium of collective industry experience and brilliant energy, already certified full cell samples and received outstanding independent validation results.

Furthermore, we are actively collaborating with multiple industry partners, who are putting our full cell B-samples through the toughest internal testing protocols with very exciting results.

OUR LEADERSHIP

Our journey to market leadership is backed by more than a 1000 years of our collective experience in R&D and business. By harnessing a millennium of understanding, we’re challenging the status-quo and charging the future. Today.

Chief Scientist

Dr. Laurent Zinck

Chief Scientist

Dr. Laurent Zinck is Chief Scientist behind Innolith’s breakthrough battery technology, co-MD of Innolith’s Innovation Centre in Germany and a member of Innolith’s Board of Directors since April 2020. Laurent is the original I-STATE technology inventor – he has dedicated last 20+ years to break-through concepts of inorganic non-flammable lithium battery chemistries, with numerous patented inventions under his name already.
Laurent completed a doctorate in electrochemistry at the University of Witten-Herdecke, focusing on rechargeable devices that utilize inorganic components – proven to be much safer and longer lasting than any predecessors. This research led directly to the first non-flammable lithium accumulator and has now reached production readiness as patented I-STATE technology. Meanwhile, Laurent is continuing applied research into electrochemistry and, together with his team, works continuously to further improve Innolith’s technology.
